Q: What is the difference between Mantis CMS and Open Source CMS products?
Open source is a set of principles and practices on how to write software. The upside is the source code is openly available. The downside however is revealed in two areas: First, thetechnical support for open source software generally relies on 3rd party support providers who are not directly responsible for the code and have little access to development teams if a need arises.

The second area of concern is unlike traditional software platforms, open source code is developed and reviewed in a less formal process which can lead to compliance issues with standards, security and technologies.

CMS stands for Content Management System. This means that you are able to edit/manage the content of your website yourself.
